Setup:
1. Host: Linux Mint 17.3 Mate
2. Virtualbox 5.0.18 r106667
3. Guest: Windows XP Pro

Windows XP will properly load all USB 2.0 memory stick on both USB 2.0 ports and USB 3.0 ports. Error occurs trying to load USB 3.0 memory stick in a USB 3.0 port.
Copy of code:
Failed to attach the USB device MUSHKIN MKNUFDVP32GB [0100] to the virtual machine WindowsXP.

Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_PDM_NO_USB_PORTS).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
End of code:

Both USB 2.0 and 3.0 memory stock open properly in the host.

Any fixes?

AFAIK XP does not support USB3 due to no drivers available.

Workaround for no USB 3.0 drivers for Windows XP
Set up share for the USB 3.0 memory sticks - works properly.
