I have the same problem. I cannot install the new version of VirtualBox in windows 10 x64 because the previous installation has not been removed. Any suggestions? Do you have a VirtualBox delete utility?

VirtualBox is simply an application program. It is installed in Windows using the Windows installer. If you have install or remove problems they are Windows problems, not VirtualBox problems, and any errors you get will come from your Windows OS, not from VirtualBox.

The message assumes that you are using VirtualBox in a commercial setup which has technical support. If this is not the case, you will need to solve the Windows installer problem yourself. If you google windows add or remove programs you will find plenty of references.

Since you are on a Windows host, another way to solve the problem would be to revert to a restore point of the OS taken before the upgrade attempt.

This could simply be a permissions problem. Make sure you use "Run as administrator" when running the installer exe.
