Drivers for VM

Post by jeanrouge »

I am experimenting with Virtual Box for 3 old physical machines well past their sell-by date.
My problem is to restore the TIBs (backup images made with Acronis) on to the VMs.
When the image is restored all the drivers (mainly the the new HDD controller and the chipset) are wrong and so the system cannot start.
Blue Screen of Death!!!
So far I have potentially solved one machine by booting into the Windows setup disk after the restore and then running repair.
It now boots up and is possibly OK although it will require authentication.
Acronis UR is the correct way to proceed but they tell me I must download the drivers.
(I am also trying Macrium and have got further with them but it still doesn't work).
Fine! But which ones and where from?
That is my question.
The O/Ss I have are XP Pro SP3 and Windows Server 2003 SP2
(Yes I know they are ancient but they are as solid as a rock and have never let me down)!
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
