[SOLVED] Can't install Windows 10 guest

When I try to install a Windows 10 guest, it freezes at "Getting files ready for installation (14%)".
If I instead try enabling EFI; I get a "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired" error.
I would like to install in EFI mode if possible
Are there any known workarounds for these issues?
Host Information
- Operating System: Arch Linux 64-bit
- Memory: 16 GB
- VirtualBox Version: 5.0.16-3

Moving to Windows guests since it does not appear to be relevant if it is a Linux host.

Yeah most likely not a problem with being on a Linux host, thanks for moving it to the correct sub-forum.

VirtualBox EFI support is not designed for Windows guests - and I can't imagine why you think you need it. It's provided for later OS X guests, because they won't boot without it, and that's all it's designed for.
I'm not as convinced as Perry that this isn't a host issue: I note that you're using an _OSE build of VirtualBox, on an Arch Linux host? Plus you have 3D acceleration enabled, which is known to cause problems on hosts whose graphics drivers are less than mature.
Do you have the install ISO on a SATA CD drive? I'd try moving the CD drive to an IDE controller, because I'm seeing a lot of SATA problems. You should also check the md5 checksum on the ISO.

I don't really need EFI support for the VM, I can live without it.

I'm using the virtualbox package provided in the official Arch Linux repositories. Also using nvidia proprietary drivers from the official repositories. I don't think either of these should be a problem.

I'll try putting the ISO on an IDE controller. Do you know if Microsoft has the md5 checksums for Windows 10 ISOs listed somewhere to compare to? I downloaded the ISO from
here.

Putting the ISO on a IDE controller fixed the issue, thanks.
