I found virtualbox on the internet and thought

wow that will be cool.

I wanted to install Linux on my windows 10 Compaq Presario CQ58. I followed some steps on instructables up until step 4 (Choose Linux ISO File). I finished step 4 and loaded it. Then I got this message (I don't remember exactly what it said).

booting up in 10, 9, 8 etc.

Afterwards, it came up with the words Linux mint at the top (mint in green) and a grey background. I waited about 10 mins and nothing happened. Can anyone help me. If you could help you would be like this. (I would upload a picture but I don't know where they are saved. lol)

Unless you give precise error messages and/or symptoms, no one will be able to comment sensibly.

Also useful would be a VM log file: With the VM fully shut down, right click it in GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.
