cluster : share a vdi between 2 or vbox systems

Post by fievelhat »

I want to create a cluster under virtualbox. Is it possible to assign the same vdi between 2 or more virtualbox systems ?

I assume that you are talking W2K3 or W2K8 clustering here. The answer is no. VBox opens a normal VDI R/W exclusive. The only type off VDI that can be shared is an R/O immutable VDI, and this appears to each machine as an initially identical but separate HDD. You are really into VMware ESX or MSVS to do this.
