I cannot figure it out.
Microsoft's VPC has this neat feature.I do not see how to do that with Oracle .

See section 5.4 in the manual, especially point 5.4.4 about immutable drives. This setting gives you the resetting OS.
See also point 5.4.2 about write-through drives. This type will give your guest a second data drive that does not reset, if you need it.
