Cannot install Windows Server 2003 on VBox

Post by MykeTheShark »

Hi,

I cannot seem to install Windows Server 2003 on VBox, i get the error saying that there is no bootable medium found.
I have linked the iso corrctly as I have done for all my other VM's so I dont understand why this is an issue.

Thanks

No bootable media means the install media is corrupt or was not built to be bootable. Test the checksum against what it was supposed to be before downloading.

The "No bootable media found" message has never been known to be wrong, ever, in the whole time I've been using VirtualBox. If you get that message then you have no bootable disk attached to the VM you just tried to boot. Accept that and you'll no doubt discover the cause quite quickly: there are several possibilities, the first being that what you have is not a valid image of a proper Win2K3 installer CD.

I discovered that I was trying to install just the service pack package. It was not the operating system which explains it.

Thanks for the insight :).
