Tails OS - Package architecture does not match.

The install log shows that VirtualBox is in fact installed and found not issues. It must be something in the way you use the host or the host itself. I have one last suggestion and that is to forgo the USB completely and install VirtualBox on the real host and see what happens.

Installed it on a real host and same issue. Installs fine but when I run it the icon appears but the GUI doesn't load. Is it possible my computer can not run VMs?

I have no idea. You have not told me what the PC is or the real operating system, or what resources you have available. How would I know?

The resources are adequate AFAICT but I can promise that VirtualBox works as expected in Ubuntu 14.04. At this point I have nothing more to give you. Perhaps someone else will have better luck.
