Howdy,
I need to run windows 64 bit on a 32 laptop for a new program. I do not want to re-install laptop just for 1 program. Can I use VB to create on another machine a 64 bit image with that software and the run it on 32 bot laptop using VB software?
Thanks!
John

You should be able to "IF" your PC supports and has it enabled hardware virtualization. You will be restricted to no more than 4GB of memory so if that is not an issue go for it.

Just need to Run AutoDesk Inventor & HSM Pro..
How would I do that? If I need a special software loaded in the VB? VERY NEW to VB.

VirtualBox is an application that allows you to install another operating system that is independent of the host, so yes you need to install the 64-bit OS.

Unless it is a fairly powerful laptop, I would not expect great performance running a CAD program in a vm. Even if it is fairly powerful, the 3D graphics performance in a vm will be sub standard. A CAD program really needs to run directly on the hardware to access the built-in GPU. A vm will only see an emulated one.

It doesn't sound like he intends to use the CAD program heavily. Probably he just needs to convert the occasional file format.
