Window 7 won't fetch updates
Windows 7 guest, Linux host. Windows Update searches endlessly. Network connection is fine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Wait some hours. That has nothing to do with Virtualbox, my last installation of Win7 on a standalone PC took 5-8 hours to scan for updates.

Yes, I agree with Marin, it's gotten really bad in the last year. I had to install Windows 7 from an original ISO, took maybe 30 minutes to install the OS and then took about 2 more days to update it - MS Office updates included. It will timeout and fail a few times. Updating the update agent itself will help some: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949104
32 bit version fail a bit more than a 64 bit, it appears the OS runs out of RAM will collating the needed updates. A 64 bit OS with more than 4GB of RAM seems to do better than a 32 bit one. Although I've had the timeout failure on both.
