Guru Meditation 1155

Post by Xoubaka »

Hi everyone,

It's been two days now that I am trying to debug a Windows VM (I tried Windows 8 and Windows 7.) But I always have the same bug at the end : Guru Meditation 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT).
I searched the web, changed my VB version, changed this ISO, the VDI disk, disabled paging, changed chipset options etc. Nothing.
If someone have an idea about this, or see something in the logs attached that I missed, it would be awesome.
(ps : the logs attached refer to the 5.0.14 VB version)

Thanks in advance !

Please set the guest OS type to "Windows 8.1 (64-bit)" and try again.

It works, thank you very much...I didn't know that the people who made the ISO used a W8.1 kernel for a W7 OS.
If you have time, can you explain me how did you think of that solution ? Is it an info that is in the log ?

Thanks a lot !

It was just a guess as the guest was crashing at int3 and I've seen other users in the past with the same problem.

I don't know about this one but we've seen situations where Windows 7 is deployed using Windows 8-based tools. The end result is Windows 7, but the VM has effectively Windows 8 requirements.
