I have created a vm for a class project and accidentally forgot to check delete all files (vs. destroy vm and keep files) and cannot seem to remove it. I have switched to root and destroyed the whole VM Workspaces folder (in ~/ ) etc. and still if I try to create a VM with that same name it says it exists in Root/VM Workspaces/name... any idea what the issue is? I have...

* purged the whole apt-get virtualBox
* uninstalled and reinstalled
* scoured ~/ to find it and know it was removed via rm -rf

Does VirtualBox still show the VM as registered?

Does your Linux host still show the /home/<username>/VirtualBox VMs/<VM name> folder? If logged in as the correct user then you should have access rights to that folder, and be able to delete it.

sorry for taking so long to reply. Yes I was able to delete the folder etc. and it did not appear so I recreated the VM and everything seems ok until now.

here is the error log that prints out at startup (I assume it is virutalbox since this is the only .crash file inside /var/crash/) any ideas as to what I can do?
