Cant attach USb devices

System
Lenovo Thinkstation D20 - Dual Xeon X5570@2.93Ghz x 16 - 48G RAM - Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV620 - 64 Bit
Ubuntu 15.10 running Virtualbox 5.0.14 - running Windows 10 Pro 64 VM session
Problem -
Cannot get any USB resources available to VM session other than wireless keyboard and mouse.
Have tried many of the suggestions found online, with no positive results.
Installed VM Extension pack for Virtualbox 5.0.14
Added user name to VBoxUser group.
Added filters for devices (Card Reader, USB External drive).
Added USB 2.0 as host controller, USB host controller is enabled
When running, all USB options are grayed out and inaccessible.
Running VBoxManage List Usbhost reports None
Running VBoxManage List USBFilters reports None
I'm a new adopter of Linux (LOVE this operating system!), and am learning my way around the system, but need assistance in getting some storage available to my VM session. Currently, I'm reduced to emailing my files back and forth between Linux and the VM Windows session to work with Windows only software, which works, but is tedious and undesirable.
I've tried loading Windows 10 native, but it does not recognize my SATA SSD drive (Samsung), and won't install, hence the VM session, which works fine other than no USB devices. I've already toasted one drive trying to do a firmware update as recommended by Microsoft, and don't really want to try that again.
Does anyone have any suggestions to assist here?
