[Win 7 x64] No internet access using Bridged Networking?

So i tried several fixes that i googled before, but neither of them worked for me. Only NAT works for me, but i need bridged connection since i want to test out some viruses/suspicious files.

I tried doing the following:

- Uninstalling and re-installing VirtualBox

- Tried all the different network adapters provided, including the default

- Reinstalling the VirtualBox NDIS6 Bridged Networking Driver

- Edited the MaxNumFilters key in the registry (According to a guide on the forums here)

- Switched Promiscuous Mode to both "Allow VM's" and "Allow All".

However, none of these worked for me. I am using AT&T U-Verse with a wireless connection. I am on a laptop as well. I have attached my VM's settings for you guys to see. What's up with this though? Why can i not gain any internet access under a Bridged Network connection?

Since you have a network problem, a little info about your network would help.

How does the host machine connect to the network? Is it on a home network which has a DHCP server? Does the vm get an IP from that DHCP server if you set it to bridged mode?

Checking into my modem told me that my internet connection type is "Direct IP (DHCP or Static)", and yes it is a home network.

Forgive my lack of knowledge of the VirtualBox, but how do i check the connection between the two while it's on?

I am more worried about you lack of knowledge about networking. I will have to bow out of this one. I don't know where to start.

VirtualBox can only bridge to Ethernet adaptor cards, andr sometimes wireless adapters. It can't bridge to a modem that is directly connected to the host.

It sounds like you need to be using NAT.
