KeyUp event gets lost in Windows 7 guest.

Post by amosb »

My host configurations are as follows:
  • Archlinux OS x64
    VirtualBox 5.0.14 with guest addons and Oracle extension installed
    i3wm using xdotool to achieve these key remappings:

    Code: Select all

        1) Ctrl+L ====> Return
        2) Ctrl+H ====> BackSpace
    method: bindsym control+l exec "xdotool getwindowfocus key -clearmodifiers --window %@ Return"
    Can also use xbindkeys/sxkbd to reproduce
These remappings work smoothly on host machine.

My guest configurations:
  • Windows 7 Ultimate i386
    Auto Capture Keyboard disabled
    Sticky key disabled
    Using VirtualBox GUI
Reproduce:
Press 'Ctrl-h' and release 'Ctrl' first, 'Ctrl' key gets stuck in guest machine. Keylook.exe shows 'Ctrl' Key Up event is lost.

Update 1
I've successfully reproduced this issue in Ubuntu 15.10 Guest.
