hi, i'm new to VM,
i tried to configure some vitrtual machine on my pc and i allocated 25Gb of disk storage to my new VM.
when i finished with this machine i just deleted her by press delete key on my key board, and it looks like it only removed the line from the VM list... cuz my disk storage remain lower than it was...

is there anything i should do after i delete the machine from the list to release the storage that have been taken by the VM?

thanks!

Be aware that "disk storage" for a VM is just files on your host. Nothing magical happens.

VirtualBox asked you, when you deleted the VM, whether you wanted to delete the physical files too. If you said yes then it did. If you said no then the it's for you to do it yourself. Go to the "<user docs>\VirtualBox VMs" container folder, see VM folder and delete it. Empty recycle bin. Make sure not to delete VMs that are still registered.

thanks for your reply...
so if it's not the vm do you any idea where 170GB of storage disappear?
as you can see when i check the disk properties it says 570 GB in use
but when i go into the disk and check the size of all files contained in the disk (including hiding files) it says 400GB

any idea what happened here?

thanks

If you have deleted the VM folder and emptied your recycle bin then that means it isn't VirtualBox, so there isn't much I can say beyond that without access to your PC.
