Attempt to drag any file to ubuntu guest crashes the guest

Running Windows 7 Professional as a host, VBox 5.0.14 r105127, using Ubuntu 14. enabled bi-directional drag and drop. trying to drag any file into Files inside the VM causes crash with the following error:
"The instruction at 0x00002000 referenced memory at 0x00002000. The memory could not be written."
Not sure what to troubleshoot, any help is welcome...
