With 5 different Linux distros both 32 bit and 64 bit, I get a wrong architecture message on my 64 bit windows 10 box when trying to install the OS under VB 5.14....
Any ideas at all?
TIA

Choose the correct template for the guest OS. For example, when installing Ubuntu (64bit), choose the "Ubuntu (64bit)" template.
If I now anticipate your response, which would be "I don't see any 64bit options when choosing a template", my answer would be please read:
FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.

Thanks..... I printed the linked material to see what I can do in the BIOS to get virtualization turned on there. Not seeing the 64 bit choices does fit in with this not being enabled.
Got it turned on

and I now see the 64 bit choices.
Currently a 64 bit distro of MX15 using the Debian template loaded. Now I wonder if I need to do an install since this is a LIVE version?
It's a little more than confusing.
Will come back and update this every few hours, as to what is going on.
I did the OS install to the virtual HD and it sorta worked.
Software installs are not being saved after a shutdown so I am going to start another thread.

Could someone show me how to mark this thread "solved"?
Thanks for your help but I have another issue and am going to start another thread for it.
TIA

You could edit your first message and change the title to "[SOLVED] Warning about wrong architecture message when installing OS".

Thanks will do.
I wish there was much more uniformity between forums...

There is quite a lot of uniformity: we're using phpBB, the same as lots of other sites.
