Hi guys
I have the below configuration and it would be helpful if you guys could tell me what am I doing wrong here.
Host Machine
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
VirtualBox version: 5.0.13
Windows firewall: off
Kaspersky firewall: off
VirtualBox configuration
Adapter
DHCP server
Guest Machine
OS: SUSE Enterprise server
Firewall: off
IP: /etc/hosts

What is the nature of the "connection" you are trying to make?

NAT Host only adapter When I try to ping the ip of SUSE server from windows machine, I get the below error. What am I doing wrong here?

Please show the output of 'ip addr' from your suse guest. The hosts file only does address translation and has nothing to do with the ip configuration of the guests network adapter(s).
