Windows cannot connect to the guest machine

Hi guys

I have the below configuration and it would be helpful if you guys could tell me what am I doing wrong here.

Host Machine
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
VirtualBox version: 5.0.13
Windows firewall: off
Kaspersky firewall: off

What is the nature of the "connection" you are trying to make?

When I try to ping the ip of SUSE server from windows machine, I get the below error. What am I doing wrong here?

From browser in Windows, I want o connect to the SUSE IP and then connect to an application. Please help!

Please show the output of 'ip addr' from your suse guest. The hosts file only does address translation and has nothing to do with the ip configuration of the guests network adapter(s).
