5.0.4 -> 5.0.14 upgrade - major network issues

Hi,
I was using Virtualbox 5.0.4 on Windows 10 x64 and kept being bugged about the new upgrade.
After installation of 5.0.14, I lost my network and cannot get the correct network drivers back. I'm using bridged networking by the way.
I have an MSI Z87-g45 motherboard with MSI's Killer Network Drivers and the current version sees it as This Qualcomm Atheros network Controller...
Tried to go back to my 5.0.4 setup by uninstalling and reinstalling the older version, but when I try launching my VM's it's complaining about a structure change so I cannot even go back.
I now notice that if I change the adapter settings I can get my network to respond again, but someone please explain me why I cannot use the network adapter that I've been using for years now?
If there are major changes in networking that would affect the normal functioning of networking after an upgrade, a little warning BEFORE the installation would be greatly appreciated. This has already cost me a couple man hourS of work and frustration while getting behind on schedule.
