[Solved] VirtualBox GUI view - compact

Post by scott.deagan »

My VirtualBox GUI (running on Ubuntu 15.10) is "compact". A whole bunch of things are missing from the GUI. Here's a screenshot:

This has been driving me crazy - I can't find out how to get back to the "normal" view. I have uninstalled (purged), removed ~/.config/VirtualBox, looked in all the menus, but just cannot find how to restore the "full view".

Any help appreciated.

Run the following in the hosts terminal. Make sure everything VBox is shut down.

Code: Select all

Thank you so much!!! I now have the normal view back:

That's been driving me crazy for months. I haven't worried about it too much because I usually just use the terminal to start guests, but it has been niggling away at me lately. So glad I asked in this forum!
