Remote Desktop to Windows Host

Post by MCFH »

Hi there,
I have installed VirtualBox onto a Windows Vista machine as the host, am running a Linux clone client as the client machine with the network adapter in bridged mode and seem to no longer be able to remote desktop from my other machines onto the HOST PC. I assume VirtualBox is doing something on the RDP port 3389.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Can I change the ports that VirtualBox uses to remove the conflict?

Thanks
Mark

Are you running the original at the same time as the clone? If so then the issue may be that you did not renew the MAC address of the clone and that is conflicting. Also the port ( vRDP) is changeable in the guest settings -> network-> advanced.

Thanks - all sorted - a trusty reboot did the trick...
