For installation of the Guest Additions

Post by pure »

good afternoon.
The ArchBang of Linux OS has to prepare a virtual machine and then install it in Oracle VM VirtualBox.
In this virtual machine, you do not know how to install the Guest Additions of Oracle VM VirtualBox.
If you have person there you know how to install Guest Additions, thank you for your professor.
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.
Such as the following, we have for now install in a way.
# sudo pacman -S virtualbox-guest-utils
# modprobe -a vboxguest vboxsf vboxvideo
Try for a while looking at the situation.

AFAIK there are no official builds of the guest additions for Arch. They have their own and as such you go to them for support.

@anandp,

What do you hope to achieve by installing the guest additions on a Linux server? The only thing that you could hope for is the shared folders. Everything else depends on X being installed on the guest.

I am still not sure how the guest additions will help you here. The only thing that you will get by installing the guest additions is the shared folder ( host to server guest )

Anyway all you need to do is make sure you have installed packages on the server that allow you to build external modules. and then run the guest additions install with the (flag ) --nox11 at the end of the install command.

This should help Howto: Install Linux Guest Additions
