VDI extension ONLY!!!!

Post by k.a.m »

My fellow humans :D !!! Im running into a bit of an issue here.
I've installed VB 5.0 and when trying to upload Any iSOs, on the "Save as Type" extension option, I only get the format VDI.
I tried to reinstall the VB as well as installing and reinstalling the extension pack. No luck unfortunately  . Anything that I am missing here?
I'm on Windows 8.1 Pro

Thank you all in advance

I'm having trouble working out what you are referring to. Perhaps a screenshot would help.

VirtualBox has no ability to write ISOs in any fashion. It can create media for use in a VM (by creating a blank VDI or copying an existing VDI) but it doesn't sound like that is what you're doing. In any case that doesn't apply to ISO since ISOs are read only, so a blank ISO would be useless - as would a copy of an ISO you already have (though that doesn't stop you using the host OS to copy one).

If you're thinking that you can use media manager to transfer guest files to the host... you can not. The only thing media manager manages is host files representing guest media. Use shared folders to copy files between host and guest.

It's ok, I figured it out. Thank you!!!

Only one thing, is it normally that Im getting only 32-bit Version for my VMS?

Whether is Linux or Windows, all the VMs are 32-bit. There is no 64
