Unsupported Platform when installing Win2k3 Server

Good afternoon all,

Due to lack of funds and on overwhelming amount of need, I am trying to utilize a piece of equipment that doesn't have a role. The machine is a Core 2 Duo machine with 4GB of RAM and running Win-10 64-bit. The RAM will be upgraded eventually if I can get either Win2K3 or Win2k8 installed.

When I get the VDI or VHD set up and I attempt to install, I always get a message that states: this system is not a supported platform.

I have spent hours on Google and cannot find a solution. So I have resorted to you all for this issue. I don't know where to begin, I cannot find anything in the settings that allow me to change BIOS settings.

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

Code: Select all

00:00:00.996146 Guest OS type: 'WindowsNT'
Neither guest you asked about are actually WindowsNT. You need to select the right guest type.

Code: Select all

00:00:01.179529 HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is not available.
Your processor does not support hardware virtualization. http://ark.intel.com/products/30781/Int ... 00-MHz-FSB
You can not run 64-bit guests and 32-bit guests will be slow.

There's no specific option to install server software, so I've done the "other windows" option, which does work. Note; that I have used this option before within a Workstation that had Win2K3 server on it. Also note that I have Win-7 32-bit on this same machine.

I am aware that running 32-bit guest systems on a 64-bit host systems can slow the overall performance, but unfortunately, Vbox doesn't give an option for 64-bit systems.

Perry already told you that your machine is not capable od running 64-bit guests. If it was you would be offered the 64-bit options. No point in offering things you cannot use.

You should be able to install Windows server 2003 using the windows 2003 32bit profile if you use the 32-bit installation media.
