So, lately I have been getting the following errors. I have been using Virtualbox for the past 3 weeks in my Windows 10 Pro with no issues until 4 days ago. Here is the error:
VT-x is being used by another hypervisor (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE).
VirtualBox can't operate in VMX root mode. Please close all other virtualization programs. (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE).
Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
ConsoleWrap
Interface:
IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
I have searched all over the net for a solution and nothing has worked. I do not have Hyper-V checked. My BIOS is setup already to run virtualbox. As I stated. I was running it fine and now this. I was using 5.0.10, I uninstalled, then installed 5.0.12 thinking it will solve the solution but not. I also installed the latest one, 5.0.14 and I still have the same issue. I also DO NOT have any other virtual machines or boxes running or installed. Not even windows.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Virtualbox - Error- Hypervisor
Something is using VT-x. Bit-Defender does for example. Something that you installed or updated 4 days ago is most likely the culprit.
