trying to setup separate VPN for each VM
trying to setup separate VPN for each VM
ok so im no expect but i have stumbled, crawled and drug myself this far with google and youtube but i cant figure this out. I am on a windows machine using virtual box. I have 3 virtual boxes running android. The problem is the VPN apps wont work like they do on a physical tablet. This maybe obvious to advanced users but i dont entirely understand how the VM shares connection with the host machine. Since i cannot connect to various VPN from within my VMs. Is it possible to add 3 different VPNS to my windows machie as connections and then configure it in the virtual box settings? or how would/could you guys do it? thanks for the help, and speak slowly to me LOL

Re: trying to setup separate VPN for each VM
It won't be easy. It depends a lot on the VPN client you are using, but VPN connections are not designed to be shared or redirected. Some can be, others can't. It is also tricky to get more than one VPN connection per NIC. A VPN tends to monopolise the NIC. In any case you could only share the connection to the guest by physical NIC, not by connection.
If you have more than one physical NIC in the host you could try bridging one vm to one NIC and a second to another NIC. You could certainly then set each vm up to connect to a different VPN. Note that you can only use bridged mode if you are on a LAN. If your host connects directly to the Internet it is not an option.
