I work at a university and am trying to set up virtual machines in the computer labs that can be accessed by anyone using the LDAP authentication. Our plan was to set up a machine and ensure that LDAP user accounts have access to the machine, but no access to edit settings or preferences. We have mostly succeeded in the latter aspect (except they still have the ability to create new VMs), but haven't been able to get the machines accessible to LDAP user accounts without going in and manually creating a new VM and linking it to the existing virtual drive.
Specifically, I want to create a VM on the master account in a shared folder where all LDAP users have RW access. However, I want the LDAP users to be able to open Virtual Box and immediately see the virtual machine, without having to create a new one and link it to the virtual drive in the shared folder.
Any advice?
