What's the Proxy section in the Preferences dialog for?

What's the Proxy section in the Preferences dialog for?

Hi,

I am using VirtualBox 5.0.12r on Windows. In the "Preferences" dialog, there's a "Proxy" section. It this proxy for virtual box manager use, or this configuration also applies to the virtual machines I created?
