SOLVED. See next message.

My Win 7 guest doesn't see my Epson 2200 photo printer under Linux Mint 17.3. I am using VirtualBox 5 with the Extension Pack.
I added myself to the vboxusers group, with the command: sudo usermod -a -G vboxusers myusername
In the VirtualBox USB menu, I added a USB filter with all values set to the Epson.
With the Win 7 VM running, the Epson is checked in the Devices --> USB menu.
But, the Win 7 guest doesn't see the Epson printer at all; it's invisible in the Control Panel.
I have Googled, searched this forum, haven't found an answer. Any help will be appreciated.

I answered my own question.
Switching from USB 3.0 (xHCI) controller to USB 2.0 (EHCI) controller fixed the problem.

A better way would be to turn off USB altogether, and share the printer over the network - thus allowing the host and all VMs to use it.
