Can you ping Google from your host?

Not every site responds to a ping.

my VM can ping my windows
Good. Being able to ping the host IP address from the guest through NAT is fine & expected.

from the first post:
I installed a Debian Machine on my Windows physical machine, but there isn't internet connection on the VM . . . I have a connection on my windows computer
Please confirm that you can browse the internet on your host Windows. (Some companies' firewall settings might have been (accidentally) set up to block an outgoing ping, but being able to browse the web would show that the host network settings are good. Interesting that the ping command shown in the screenshot was able to resolve google.com into an IP address.)

Good. So you can browse the web from the host, and your guest can ping the host through the NAT network connection. As far as I can see, everything in Virtualbox is working. Sounds to my less-than-Linux-newbie experience like something is not set right within the Linux guest.

On my XP guest that I set to NAT, the network configuration inside the guest is this way:
IP address, 10.0.2.15, by DHCP
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 10.0.2.2

Is this the way your guest is set?

Yes, it's exactly the same parameters on my guest

In that case there is no problem. Google is not legally obliged to respond to your ping you know!

Well, if it doesn't work on the host then it won't work in the guest, so I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe your gateway is blocking ICMP for some reason.

Same parameters, huh? Well, I've hit the end of my usefulness, then. I can't think of anything else. About all I know of Linux is that it exists. You didn't by any chance try some of the things in section 9.11 of the manual at one time or another?

One thing you could try, start a new guest, set the guest network to NAT, and install a fresh Linux. See if that guest can get to the internet.

I found your English to be just fine, no need to apologize at all.

One other thing. When version 5 came out there were some network glitches during the install of Virtualbox. When you ran the installation of Virtualbox on your Windows host, did you have to do a custom installation and turn off any of the network drivers or issue any unusual commands to the installer?

P.S. don't try anything in section 9.11 if you didn't do anything with that section before. That's expert stuff and not needed just to get a NAT network running.

No , I did the normal installation, I never touched to the network drivers

OK, then I'm stuck, sorry I couldn't help further. If no one else comes on here in a day or two, try asking your question in the Linux Guests forum. Report that your Windows host can browse the internet, your Linux guest is set to NAT and can ping the host, but your guest cannot get to the internet. They may ask for a few of the same troubleshooting steps we did, just give them what they ask. Also try asking on the Debian forum, maybe it's something within the guest itself. If the fresh test install of Debian can access the internet but your present guest still cannot, then it's an in-the-guest issue and the Debian forum might be able to help.
