Release USB device

Post by fatman45 »

VirtualBox Version 5.0.10 r104061. Windows XP 32-bit SP3 Guest on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 Host. I accidentally clicked on mu USB printer from the Host Key menu. Now it reads "Captured" when I hover over that menu choice. And I can no longer print from my Host machine. How do I release it?

Have you tried clicking on it?
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Hi and thanks for the reply! Yes, I tried that and it doesn't do anything. I was finally able to resolve it by completely shutting down the VM. Just restarting didn't work - I had to completely shut it down. Then the printer started working on the Host and when I restarted the VM it was no longer captured - shows "Busy" when hovered over it.
