Win Host Netw Adapt Connect

Hello.

I have VBox on Win 7. When VBox was installed it created the default Network Adapter (see attachments), and it's been working for a year or so. All of the sudden, since a couple of weeks or so, the VBox network adapter under Windows "Network Connections" isn't working anymore. Its "Status" shows there's no connection. When I look at the VBox Settings Network tab, most of the fields and tabs for this adapter are disabled...

Would you please help me to restore this network adapter to working condition?

Can it be repaired either using Windows or VBox or another tool?

Can I create a new one either using Win Network Connections, VBox VM Manager, or a script?

Can I export or copy a good/working network adapter either using Win Network Connections or VBox VM Manager to this VM which the bad network adapter?

TIA. Any help will be greatly appreciated :-)

I think you're a bit confused by the networking modes in VirtualBox. Please read the following: http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html to get a better understanding of the network in a VM.
- HostOnly is one of them which requires the virtual adapter (pics 1, 2).
- NAT is another mode. Is the VM running at the time that you're trying to change the settings? You can't do that. The VM needs to be shut down first.

Darn, you blacked out the two pieces of information I needed to hack into your computer!
Phooey.

EDIT - actually I see the global.s... in the next screenshot. That's enough.
ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!!

None of the VMs were running at the time. I started the one that has the connection prob. and the internet wasn't working, so I shut the VM down. I was not trying to change settings while the VM was running

The networking for this VM has been working till no long ago, and I've not changed anything at least purposely

any help will be appreciated

Regards

Well, pictures don't lie and picture #3 shows a running VM, that's why some settings are disabled.

Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance. As far as the "VBox.log.zip" goes, here's what you do:
- Start the VM.
- Observe the incorrect behavior.
- Shut down the VM.
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show Log..."
- Save it, ZIP it and attach it in your response.

On top of that, we'd like to see the "recipe" of the VM, the .vbox file:
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show in Finder/Explorer/Whatever".
- ZIP it and attach it in your response.
