Re: XP Guest start failure
Not enough data yet. Need exact error message text, any logs the error says to provide.
Minimal information needed to be able to help

Re: XP Guest start failure
No need for the extra data. You are using the Ubuntu fork of VirtualBox. If you want support then you need either to install the official VirtualBox (and then we'll see if you still have a problem), or you can seek support on the Ubuntu forums.

Don't understand "official VirtualBox" I would have used the Software Centre to install. Can you elaborate.
Thanks

Re: XP Guest start failure
The Ubuntu folks have taken the Virtualbox that Oracle distributes and modified it as they wish for Ubuntu. Anyone is allowed to do that. But the folks here don't know what the Ubuntu folks changed, so we can't really help fix problems. We might be barking up the wrong tree.
If you want to have us help, you need to uninstall the Ubuntu version then come to www.virtualbox.org and install the version for Ubuntu found on the Virtualbox downloads page.
If you want to keep using the Ubuntu version of Virtualbox, you'd have to ask their forums for help. They'd know it better.

Re: XP Guest start failure
Installed Vn5 official. Much better aborted once.
Got my figures, consider fixed.
Thanks
