Hi All,

I have a Windows 2012 R2 (64bit) server Host

Details:
blade DELL poweredge M1000e
DELL M620 ; BIOS 2.2.7 ;
CPU : 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v2 @ 2.10GHz
Total memory : 96.0 GB
Disk San 500 Go ; Baie EMC VNX5400.
Module MPIO ; multipathing : Round Robin
Last patchset installed

This server only host One VM with Oracle Linux 6.7 64bits (bigdata lite 4.2.1 ) using bridged network.

on the message log, it seems that the issue is due MP I/O.
Do you have any recommandation on what can I do be more stable ?

Best Regards,
Patrick

That looks like you have problems with your disks (which is not something we can help you with).

I can't make out anything about why the host "unexpectedly rebooted". Can you? If the host crashed, do you have any minidumps or other diagnostic data?

Hi Michaln,

Thank you for your quick answer.
I try to figure out what can I do:

The Windows admin server just did the following steps:
- Memory Diagnostic => OK
- Remove unused pilote from bios (meszzanine card)
- stop auto restart on system failure.
- Windows Update ( 13 correctifs installed)
- Server has been restarted with diagnostic mode

Can I change something from virtualbox side to have mode informations ?
Can we change how VBox is doing I/Os ( today the VM storage is not using I/O cache)

You should already have VBox.log file(s) for the running VM.

You can change the VirtualBox I/O mode but I don't see why it should make any difference. The information showed previously strongly hints that you have bad disks in the system or possibly a faulty RAID controller. Testing memory and tweaking VirtualBox won't fix that.

I have uploaded the log files from vbox.
But as you said earlier the server seems to crash when we are trying to access the files at some time.
I didn't find anything usefull on the logs to troubleshoot. Upload it just in case.

Thanks again for your help.

Patrick

Indeed, nothing useful/suspicious in the VirtualBox logs.
