HI,
I having a hard time copying and pasting from host (W10) to guest (W7). I am not talking of copying and pasting files but simply text strings or images.
When the VM first comes up I can do a ctrl-c / ctrl-v but all of a sudden it stops working and all I can do is to stop the VBoxTray process and execute it again from the VirtualBox Guest Addition folder on the guest machine.
This would let me copy and paste only once. If I need to copy and paste another time I have to go through the stop and restart described above. And this is really annoying as you might imagine...

I have this problem too.

Copy/paste has always been flaky and stops working a couple of times every day.
So i have a macro to stop/restart VBoxTray.

But now you need to restart it for every single ''%&#! paste-operation!
Its ridiculous.

I assume you're having a Windows guest, since you're talking about the VBoxTray.exe. Complaining in a "me too" fashion doesn't really help you or us. You need to post your VM log:
- Start the VM.
- Observe the error message.
- Shut down the VM.
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show Log..."
- Save it, ZIP it and attach it in your response.
On top of that, it would be helpful if you went to the Windows Event Viewer (eventvwr.exe) and looked in the Applications and System logs for anything funky during the time that the clipboard stops working.
