Lost File Menu

Post by Geofrog »

Hello all! My google-fu has failed, so I'm hoping someone has seen this before and knows the fix.

My host is a Macbook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.2. All applications, including VirtualBox and the Extension Pack, and the OS are up to date. My guest OS is Windows 7 Pro. Again, all applications including the OS are up to date.

I seem to have lost the guest OS VirtualBox menu (Application, Machine, View, Input, etc.).

I've checked the settings in the VirtualBox application and they should be on as far as I can tell.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I even tried deleting VirtualBox completely and importing the appliance again, but I get the same result.

I have a suggestion. :)
Go into the settings for the guest, user interface tab, and makes sure the menu's are enabled.

Should look like this…

There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

Thanks, loukingjr, but I think it is enabled. Or at least let's say there is not a disable button. All of the options under each submenu are checked. Image

No they are not enabled. Click on each one so they are highlighted.

Thanks loukingjr! Don't I feel like a dipshit now. I didn't realize they could be clicked on or off. The interface for that feature could be a little more clear, or maybe it's just old me. I really appreciate your help. Happy New Year!

most welcome. I'm not sure it's actually explained anywhere. Happy New Year to you and yours.
