modifyhd - failed to work (without snapshot)

Hi,

My virtual box version : 5.0.12 r104815, running on Windows 10.

When I create my VDI, I don't have enough disk space so I just allocate 50gb for it. Now, I want to expand to 120gb but run into error.
I managed to do it in the past but not sure why I got this error.

Try 120000. 1200000 is 1200 GBs.

Is this a fixed size disk? If so then you can't resize it using VBoxManage. You'd have to use CloneVDI, which will create a dynamic (not fixed size) clone, as it should be.

This one works like magic. I managed to use CloneVDI to extend my disk. It is fixed size.

Try 120000. 1200000 is 1200 GBs.

Tried changing the number but no luck getting it done.

I was just letting you know you were trying to create a 1200GB drive.

That's one case where reading the user manual would have taken 1/2 the time that it took you to register, post the question, read the answer and reply (and again)...

The --resize x option ... currently works only for VDI and VHD formats, and only for the dynamically allocated variants...
