Corrupted W10 Network

Post by TomCrofford »

I just spun up W10 on my Macbook and have been using it. It's fairly fast in operation.

I made the mistake of unplugging my display cable and going onto battery while the Windows machine was up. This toasted the network settings.

Fortunately, I have an untouched version of all the files in the VDI directory. I IPL'ed with those and everything works.

I am making a Pristine and a Working folder for my VM. I will run from the Working folder. When Windows does one of these squirelly things in the future, and I am betting it will do that lot, I will just blow away the Working files and restore the Pristine files.

Does anyone have input here?

If you replace your "Working" folder with the "Pristine" folder you would lose any applications or files you added to the "Working" VM of course.

I'm sorry, but this is something I don't quite understand; I mean how could the display and power settings screw up your network? Would you mind explaining that a little bit further? What got toasted and in what sense? Are you talking about the settings inside your W10 guest or the settings in VirtualBox?
