Hello,
Back few months ago, I upgraded my pc into W10 from w8.1,without any drive wipes, and I had Virtualbox installed meanwhile, I don't remember the version,though.
After the install, I saw that it was not installed anymore, so I wanted to install it again now(The version VirtualBox-5.0.13-104829), to use Genymotion. (Windows 10 x64 Build 10240)
Somehow I'm getting "Setup Ended Prematurely" error(Setup goes about 80% complete, and rolls back), and unable to install it now. I've tried many things, deleting any leftover files,running setup as admin, checking ethernet properties list(nothing about vbox was there), installing without bridge networking(didnt work as well.) so far, nothing worked.

I'd appreciate any suggestion, thank you for your time.

This may be seem a spam, but I managed to solve it, by uninstalling Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Try to get rid of your Anti-Virus or Firewall.Something may be not allowing to you to add a new network adapter.

Same problem. With older 5.10, 5.12 and 5.13 versions.

The problem only occurs when installin the network options in the virtualbox installer. But we need this so we need a solution.

Solved: Manually start "device setup manager" or "dsmsvc" in start>execute>services.msc and install after that.

I dont know why but, in my desktop it was "manual", so i changed to automatic and started it.

In spanish is "Administrador de configuracion de dispositivos"

Same problem, only windows defender, no firewall

Solved by manually activating dsmsvc "device setup manager" in services.msc
