Help in using VirtualBox

Hello I'm a non pro newbie and I'm hoping someone can help me. I have been running a financial accounts programme for 15 years on XP and amassed a lot of files. Unfortunately it won't operate on anything else after Vista. I'm now using Win10 and running XP within VirtualBox just for this programme. Can I export the work I have done in XP to Win10 to use it elsewhere or is there another way to back it up outside VirtualBox? Sorry if I haven't expressed myself very well.

Be sure to install the Guest Additions first (section 4.2.1).
