USB device is busy with a previous request, Failed to attach

The Host Os is Windows 7, the guest OS is Ubuntu mate 14.04.2 LTS.
In the Virtual Machine,
After I plug the USB device and then I go to Devices->USB Devices-> STMicroelectronics ST32 STLINK[0100].
I get the below pop-up window in the virtual box.
"Failed to attach the USB device 'STMicroelectronics STM32 STLINK[0100]' to the Virtual machine 'Ubuntu mate'.
USB device is busy with a previous request.Please try again later"
I know I selected the device the second time, but still it is not getting detected.
