Can't Make Static IP Work With CentOS 7 In VirtualBox
Posted: 31. Dec 2015, 07:14
Hello!
I'm trying to create a static ip in Centos 7, and along with that I require Internet access. Windows 10, 64 bit is my host OS. CentOS 7 is my guest OS. I have VirtualBox 5.0
I've not been able to make it work. I've posted to the CentOS board for help, and I'm pretty sure everything is right on that side. The ip address for Windows 10 is a static IP address.
In the ifcfg-enp0s3 file, I have the following content:
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp0s3
I'm attempting to use the "Bridged" adaptor. When I do, no static IP is created (and no web access). When I use the NAT adapter, a static IP is created, but I have no web access.
Everything works fine if I use dhcp with the NAT adapter, but I require a fixed IP for a project I'm working on. Also, I had to shut down the Network Manager, which is recommended for the project as well.
I'm assuming the problem is somewhere with the Bridged Adapter, since I've gone thoroughly over the CentOS 7 NIC configuration.
Thanks for any help!!
