Host-Only Ethernet Adapter blocking Host connections

Hello

I am having an issue where I can't join LAN games (or be seen) by other computers on my LAN while the host-only Ethernet adapter is active.
Disabling it allows me to join games or host just fine.
Is there a work around to this issue? Can I uninstall the host-only adapter and use another method to provide network connectivity to my guest machines?

Host: Windows 10
Guest: Ubuntu 14

Why do you need the HostOnly adapter? For communications between the host and the guest? For that, you can either try InternalNetwork (no internet connectivity on the guest) or Bridged (if you're using wireless, it might not work). You can always have more than one adapters and arrange/connect/use them appropriately...

I am not sure what the function of the adapter is, it was installed when I setup Virtualbox.
I assumed it was required for network connectivity or sharing folders between host and the guest.
If that is not the case can i simply uninstall it without consequence?

I'm using a wired network

Take a look at Ch. 6.2. Introduction to networking modes for a small overview of the networking modes. It's up to you to figure out if it helps your needs or no.

Thanks for the link.
I will try removing it and see if everything functions.
