Chromecast / Simulating WIFI in Windows 7

I have created a windows 7 32bit guest OS on a windows 7 32bit host.

I am trying to run a chromecast on the guest OS via the chromecast extension on chrome. The problem is that the chromecast is detected via WIFI and the internet connection to the guest OS is provided via a virtual ethernet adaptor. Hence the chromecast extension simply doesn't detect the chromecast.

There is one previous thread discussing this issue on the forum but it isn't resolved. I can't post a link as this is my first post but a quick search will reveal the thread.

Has anyone managed to set this up. Is it possible to pass the WIFI connection from the host to the guest in a manner that it actually appears as a WIFI connection and not a LAN connection?

The only option is passing through a USB WiFi adapter.
