Can ANYONE help with installing win 7 pro in virtualbox. I am using a lubuntu 15.10 OS on a PNY flash drive 32GB. I am trying to install Win 7 Pro into the virtualbox and I get the "kernel data inpage error".
Has anyone else ran into this?
I bought the Windows 7 pro iso online and checked it and its all good.
Is there something I need to change to make this work?
Thanks for your time

Re: kernel data inpage error (linux host, installing win 7)
Perry,
I am sorry but I don't know how to locate the information you asked for? Here is what I am using and how I am doing it.
Lubuntu 15.10 on a PNY flash drive (booting from this flash drive)
In Lubuntu I have Virtualbox 5.0.10 installed.
I bought a new copy of Windows 7 Pro iso and burned to a dvd.
When installing Windows 7 I can get to the "COMPLETING INSTALLATION" but it just hangs there and doesn't complete.
I have been at this for over a month and googled everything possible and I can figure it out.
The PNY Flash drive is 32GB

Re: kernel data inpage error (linux host, installing win 7)
Running two OSes ( the host and the guest ) from a flash drive is going to be really slow. Also you probably are running into a situation of the drive format. If it is Fat32 you will have a 4GB ceiling for file size which the guest actually looks like to the drive ( one large file ).
How long did you wait, and what is the format of the drive?

Re: kernel data inpage error (linux host, installing win 7)
it is formatted as NTFS.
When I installed Lubuntu i used a flash drive to bring up initial page. Then I plugged in the PNY flash drive to install on it. This way I didn't have to use GPARTED and change persistance so I could use all 32GB.
I just don't understand why it won't load.
I put whonix on the VB gateway easy but windows 7 won't go.
Thoughts?

I have no idea what putting whonix on VB gateway has anything to do with it not finishing the install and what you actually mean by VB gateway.
So far all I can see is user error issues. Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.
