Issues locating .vdi file

Post by HDH_15201 »

Hello! I'm new to VB and am attempting to increase the HDD size through Terminal, but I can't seem to find the correct path for the .VDI file and am hoping someone can help me.

My VMs are located at \Users\Me\VirtualBox VMs\Name. Nowhere in there can I find a .VDI file. I also browsed the Library files for VB (per a suggestion I found on a posting board) with no luck.

When I navigate to the actual VM folders using the path above, I see a Logs folder, a .vbox file, and a .vbox-prev file.

Thanks for your help!! :)

A .vdi file should be in it's respective VM folder with the
Logs folder and .vbox files. the only reason it wouldn't be is if you or someone moved them out or when you were creating the .vdi file you saved it to a different location than the default.

So what happens if you use Spotlight to search for ".vdi"? It comes up empty? Another nice tool you could use for that job is EasyFind.

EasyFind is a great tool. I use it myself. However, Spotlight will find every .vdi I have. So if it comes up with no results, that pretty much means there are none.
