Choosing file system on Virtualbox for Ubuntu
Choosing file system on Virtualbox for Ubuntu
Hi. I'm brand new to Virtualbox and Ubuntu. I thought I'd install Virtualbox on my Windows 7 machine. I'd like to learn to use Ubuntu. I was watching a tutorial video on youtube to learn how to install and create a virtual machine, and will later install Ubuntu on it. I'm having trouble finding out what file system to choose from the Virtualbox choices. I'm not sure which selection to make that would facilitate a good result. I'd be thankful for any help with this. I could not find any answers with google Thank you.

I'd say - forget the YouTube video. Installing an OS is simple if you use your eyes and brain - a YT video would just be a distraction.
Choose "VDI" from your choice of hard disk image formats. It is the native VBox format and hence has the most support. In general when presented with a list of choices, go with default, as that indicates the choice of experts.
Btw: it isn't like it's a one way trip. VMs are cheap, nor are you confined to one, so stop worrying about making a mistake with the recipe!
