Need virtual machine to have different IP than host

As title says, I need my host and virtual machine to have different IP's as if I had two computers. This is really important for me, if someone can help me I would really appreciate it. I think it's the external IP address, the one you get from when you look your IP in a google search.

You can't change your Public IP. It is set by your provider. You could use a VPN service.

Just to clarify something, if you use a VPN service, your Public IP would appear to change but it would be the same IP for the host and guest.

It might be easier to actually have two physical machines. To achieve it with one physical device you would need to have two NICs in the host machine with separate connections to your ISP. You would then have to arrange the settings in the host so that the host machine used only one NIC and the guest used the other.
Perhaps if you told us why you need this for we could suggest a simpler solution.

There is no other solution, I need virtualbox to act as a real physical machine with it's own IP. I thought I'd give it a try here maybe someone knew a way since I'm pretty new with virtualbox. I know VPN works but it's really not worth it because it considerably slows internet...and most of them cost money

Q: Who's going to give you that second public IP address?
A: Your ISP, that's who. Have you signed up for 2 addresses from your ISP? Fixed? 2nd modem? I doubt it.

Well, as BiilG suggested, how would it work if you had two physical machines? If you can answer that, we can help you set it up in the virtual world. But, think about that first, keeping in mind the rest of the requirements that BillG laid out (dual NICs, custom TCP/IP configuration, custom adapter settings, etc).
Having a virtual machine means
absolutely nothing to the outside world, especially if you're trying to make it look like a physical one...

Still haven't answered that one...

What if the ISP has a special on Thursdays, "
Buy 2 IPs, get the 3rd one free!".
Thought about that? I didn't think so...
